Bravo!! Dr Mere Samisoni: A Grandma, Mother & A Successful Business Lady.

Reflections: You're another Fiji Hero Dr Mere Samisoni!!

Read this excerpt & decide for yourself.

"Williams told the ABC's PM programme:

"I spoke to the officer in charge, I said why are you arresting this woman?

He said oh I know it's illegal, he said, but I've been told to do it.

I said, well what's the reason? He said I've got no reason.

DOMINIQUE SCHWARTZ: And who told him to do that?
PETER WILLIAMS: He said oh my superior officer. And that's what is happening in Fiji right now."

This is a typical snapshot of what Bainimarama is trying to hide but surfacing when media interrogates individuals or cronies who are 'just following orders'!!

Dr Samisoni
Fiji business woman, Mere Samisoni, is under police interrogation after reportedly tackling FICAC officers today for their part in the trial and conviction of deposed prime minister Laisenia Qarase.

The 74 year old grandmother is alleged to have been involved in an incident prior to the sentencing of the SDL leader today in the Suva High Court.

Police sources claim the deposed SDL member of Lami was waiting outside the FICAC offices at 11.15am in her car for the lawyers to emerge for the trip to the High Court.

As soon as two FICAC vehicles, FX970 and FR119 drove out, it is alleged she followed them.

Police are claiming that as soon as they reached Holland Street, Samisoni overtook the  FICAC vehicles and stopped in front of them.

Initial police reports claim she blocked their lane, got out and yelled at the FICAC lawyers that what they were doing was wrong.

Her lawyer, Peter Williams QC, has told New Zealand media Samisoni is being harassed by Fiji police.

He says he spoke to a police officer who told him he had been told to take Samisoni to the police station by his superior and he had his orders to carry out.

Williams told the ABC's PM programme: "I spoke to the officer in charge, I said why are you arresting this woman?
He said oh I know it's illegal, he said, but I've been told to do it.
I said, well what's the reason? He said I've got no reason.
DOMINIQUE SCHWARTZ: And who told him to do that?
PETER WILLIAMS: He said oh my superior officer. And that's what is happening in Fiji right now."

Samisoni is accused with three others of trying to overthrow the unelected government of Frank Bainimarama and is currently on bail.

She was arrested in January under the Public Emergency Regulations and her case is yet to be heard with the regime having delayed it several times already.

71 year old Qarase was sentenced today by Justice Priyantha Fernando to a year in jail after being convicted on 9 corruption related charges following a two week trial led by FICAC lawyers Michael Blanchflower and Elizabeth Yang.
