Luvei Viti (Children of Fiji): Fiji theme dinner night for parents & families of Cancer Children.

This was indeed an awesome evening. Cooking some Fijian dishes for these families was a real joy. It was great to hear their stories and watch them tucking into the meals.

We will post you some photos shortly so watch this space...

Luvei Viti (Children of Fiji): Babies were switched at birth & they are now teenagers!

Luvei Viti (Children of Fiji): Babies were switched at birth & they are now teenagers!

Point of interest, this story needs to be explored further as from Peceli & Wendy's posting it appears the two teenage lads seems to be going through some difficulties todate.

I firmly believe both the young lads and their families need some sort of support from outside the family circle. Those that have not come to grips with the stories and are making it hard for these young boys need to be helped too especially the immediate families.

We wish to probe this story further and see what help is out there in order to help these young lads & their families enjoy their existence rather than being frowned upon.

Wow - Hannah - A young Lawyer - 'our very own' from Fiji & Aotearoa - 'Congratulations' Hannah for this Special Day!

Hannah, pictured here with her Dad & Mum outside the High Court in Molesworth St. Wellington. This is Hannah's moment after having experienced what it feels like to be now officially added to the Roll of elites.
For those that do not know Wellington, this building is directly opposite the Beehive, the seat of power & power house for NZ Parliament.
Victoria University Law School have done well to churn out these new wave of young generation lawyers as they were seen solemnly giving their oaths at the High Court late last month.

3 x photos above shows Hannah & friends at the Fiji Day 'Bula Night' 10/10/2008. Hannah has worked very hard to become a Lawyer. She has been my mentor at Law school and assisted me a great deal to get my head around those curly 'legalese thinking' etc etc!!!
Hannah 's dad, Mr Macdonald is from Fiji but educated overseas and has a Kiwi wife. For those that know Lyn Macdonald, a former Ms Hibiscus in Fiji in the hey days, this is her niece. Hannah was blessed to have her close families & friends at this prestigious event where she was being admitted to the Bar.

She looked stunning in her lawyer..ish attire & for a moment she looked like one of those famous pretty & brainy lawyers straight out of Boston Legal!!!

Well done Hannah & 'Vinaka vakalevu' for all your mentoring @ Law school. Rest assured you will be one of the first to know when I reach my goal.

Our 'Luvei Viti (Children of Fiji) Community group, in Wellington wishes you the very best for an exciting & prosperous years ahead in your Law career.

Uuuhhmmm...just on a gentle note - The "Kerekere" system does'nt work in Aotearoa.......

Do think of us Hannah when you have made it big!!!

Wellington 'Mana College' Fijian students stages the opening performance for their Sports Award Dinner night

The evening was indeed a buzz. Parents mingled with teachers, coaches and their children who attends this very sporty orientated school.

For those of us that have just come to know about Mana College - it does churn out some great elite Sports Stars & great atheletes here in Aotearoa. If last night was a 'snapshot' of how the school does it, ....then a big Congratulation to the Principal, Mr Mike Webster & his team of dedicated teachers, students, coaches & parents alike.

Watch this space for photos of this very prestigious events.

Till then.
